Name: Jordyn, Body: Hi Watershot. SO: Hi Jordan I have an iPhone 7 and wish to buy the Watershot® PRO Line Housing iPhone®7 Black/Sunfish - Sunfish. Will i be able to take "dome" photos half in/out of the water with this camera or will i need an extension because the Super Dome is not compatible with iPhone 7. otherwise, will the Watershot® 0.37X Wide-Angle Lens Port be able to create this photo on the Watershot® PRO Line Housing iPhone®7 sorry for the confusion. SO: It is confusing and as a result of your thoughtful email we have updated the Watershot® 0.37X Wide-Angle Lens Port & Super Dome Lens Port information on the Watershot website to clear up the confusion. SO: The Camera Lens on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus has a greater FOV (Field Of View) both horizontally and vertically than any other previous iPhone camera lens. The Super Dome currently available will cause vignette (small dark areas) in the 4 corners of the picture.  We have new Wide Angle Lens Elements that we are currently building into the new Wide Angle Lens Port and Super Dome Lens Port for Watershot PRO iP7 and Watershot PRO iP7 Plus to...

  • Watershot 1-2-3 Checklist for iPhone Setup

Downloaded the Watershot App and still running into issues, please take a moment to read and follow the Watershot 1-2-3 Checklist to assist with the proper iPhone setup.   ***iPhone 6 Plus or 6S Plus*** Open your iPhone and go into your iPhone Settings > Display & Brightness > and make sure your iPhone is in Standard Mode not Zoom Mode.  Zoom Mode is problematic and this is what causes the buttons to change location on the screen and not align with the Camera Housing Buttons. Go into your iPhone Settings and click on Privacy, now click on Camera. Make sure the Watershot app has access to the Camera. Now check Microphone, and Photos to make sure the Watershot app has access to them as well.  If that doesn't work, then go back to Settings and scroll down to the Watershot app and click on it.  Check to make sure that the Watershot app has access to Photos, Microphone, and Camera. As a friendly reminder, you are now able to use the Apple Camera with the Watershot Pro Housing for the iPhone 6 Plus and 6S Plus. You can use the regular camera app on the iPhone, and switch between...

  • Anthony, Getting the most ...

A little tip and trick that hopefully you can play with next time in the water. Sometimes white balance can be tricky while shooting in the ocean and reds are the first to go. A couple things...sometimes for whatever reason the white balance in photo and video modes vary slightly and one may look better than the other. Many times I'll shoot video and use the bottom right button to take a still while shooting my video for this reason or if I want a little more focal length, which you'll get while shooting video, meaning it will bring your subject closer. First step is to make sure everyone knows you can take stills while shooting video with that little white button that appears in the bottom right corner once you start recording. It's good to know every little way to tweak your possibilities and open up your options with your gear.

  • Lost in the Ocean

From: Carignane von Pohle  Sent: Wednesday, June 22, 2016 10:19 AM To: dev@watershot.com Subject: Product Testimonial   To Whom It May Concern: I wanted to share a testimonial about how great your products are! It’s a pretty amazing story.  A couple weeks ago my wife received a voicemail. The message was simple: I think I found your phone. A kind stranger returning a lost phone is a great story, but what makes the story almost unbelievable was that the message was received over a year after the phone had been lost in the ocean. In April 2015 I visited Pacific Beach, California with family. Our plan was to spend the day at the beach and do a little surfing. My wife, a novice surfer, was out in the water towards the end of the day and I decided to get some videos of her surfing using my iPhone 5 inside a Watershot Housing. As a perfect wave rolled in, I decided to give her a little push just to make sure she caught the wave. In an instant, her leash wrapped around the housing and ripped it off my wrist. That was it. In the whitewater near the shore visibility...

  • Music Video Filmed Exclusively on iPhone Using Watershot® PRO Housing

Our new friend and very talented filmmaker Sven Dreesbach recently teamed up with Robot Koch & Delhia de France to create a music video for their acclaimed song ‘Dark Waves.’ The full story is contained in ResourceMagOnline - http://motion.resourcemagonline.com/2015/12/why-sven-dreesbach-chose-to-film-an-ocean-based-robot-koch-music-video-exclusively-on-iphone/436/ (excerpts are below). What was amazing was that Sven filmed the entire video on iPhone. Or maybe not so amazing. “Two of the main reasons for choosing the iPhone over other cameras was its ease of use and flexibility. I was looking for a way to create images in the water that would slow down time to a level that would contribute to the dreamy and mysterious tone,” Sven said. “The new iPhones were simply a great option in regards to shooting slow motion in 1080p. This feature improved a lot compared to earlier iPhones. It’s just amazing to see this happening inside your smart phone, thinking about how a feature like 120 fps in 1080p just wasn’t available to consumer cameras at all not long ago." With many of Sven's shots taken in the water, he needed specialized equipment. “For the shots inside the water we used the latest underwater housing from Watershot.... the San Diego based company was kind enough to provide us with the latest production model...

  • Good Samaritan Finds a Cast Away Watershot® PRO 6 Housing, iPhone Still Dry!

"Yesterday, I found one of your housings (photo attached) that had washed up on shore at Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.  I carried it home and was happy to discover that I was able to turn on the phone while it was still inside and determine that Sprint was the carrier.  I dropped it off at the Sprint store and they said they would notify the owner.

I have no idea how long it was lost at sea; the phone had only 9% battery left.  Just thought you'd like to know about this particular survivor."
